Turkey, not a Scape Goat for Syria's Civil War

Muhittin Ataman, SETA Deputy Director, rejecting the criticisms on July 28 told France 24 that Turkey has not supported the civil war in Syria but any movement, or any challenge, against the Bashar al Assad regime.

A new home to about two million refugees from Syria, Turkey has spent more than 15 billion USD for the Syrian refugees. However, Turkey’s policies contributed to the civil war in Syria, according to some critics.

Muhittin Ataman, SETA Deputy Director, rejecting the criticisms on July 28 told France 24 that Turkey has not supported the civil war in Syria but any movement, or any challenge, against the Bashar al Assad regime. “This does not mean a support to the civil war; in fact, Turkey has tried to prevent the mass killings of the Syrian refugees,” the deputy director added.
