On the brink of the 1st November elections in Turkey, most of the attention is directed towards the AK Party as it is expecting to have a majority in the parliament. According Talha Köse this remains the main excitement of this election as the fact that all the four main parties will pass the threshold is predictable.
Köse stated that there is expected an increase of 2 percent in the vote number for AK Party and CHP however the fact that there is no major structural, social and political transformation would not affect too much the votes direction. The reason that may lead to more votes for AK Party is that it has changed the campaign style and focused more on economic policies after taking in consideration the message that voters gave in the elections of 7 June.
Köse concluded by saying that the terrorist attack in Ankara will not have a major effect on the votes as the people are already polarized in four different directions; however, it will consolidate the poles.
