Rift in the trans-Atlantic alliance is growing

The reelection of Donald Trump as the president of the United States has caused great concern in European countries, which largely supported former President Joe Biden's campaign. Trump’s most recent unilateral and interventionist political discourse has increased tension between the U.S. and its long-time trans-Atlantic allies.
