Afifa A. Warsame graduated from the political science and international relations department at TED University in Ankara. She is currently finalizing her master’s degree in Migration Studies at the same university. Her thesis focuses on how Somalia’s social structure influences brain drain. Her research interests encompass Somali migration patterns, brain drain and related phenomena, the role of clan systems, and the impact of al-Shabaab on the country’s socio-political landscape. Additionally, she is interested in the security landscape of Africa, with a particular focus on non-state armed actors and their influence on migration, regional security, and governance, as well as transnationalism and diaspora impacts.
